It is often that I get a call from a previous client referring me a friend, a sister, a relative, a coworker or simply somebody she or he just met in a coffee shop. But when I got a call from one of my favorite Indian clients about her sister’s upcoming wedding next June. I was so jazzed. Not only I love their family very much, but I truly enjoy indian weddings with all their colors and culture. We have done many Indian weddings of different color and sizes but here are just a few pictures of two weddings we did at the Hilton Torrey Pines in San Diego, CA. Enjoy!

How exciting to witness an Indian wedding with all its elaborate celebrations. Bear in mind, if you are part of the family you might need to take some vacation days because it can extend up to four or fivedays! Indian wedding are filled with rituals, culture and symbolism.

Intricate henna patterns known as mehendi, dress the women’s hands and feet in an artistic fashion. What a wonderful way to symbolize the bond between the bride and her husband to be.

We also see this color combination in the floral extracts used for the Tikka. Marigold and hibiscus powders are created in richred and gold tones. Flowers are a symbol of creation and regeneration. They are considered pure and therefore are commonly used in offerings and celebrations. The color ofthe mandap follows suit. It is traditionally dressed in red and gold.

Not only does red represent love in the world of flowers but it is one of those rare colors that can stand all alone. Its regal appearance stops you in your tracks, and makes you pay attention.

Who can resist the classic red rose that’s texture resembles red velvet fabric, or an amazing deep red Calla lily with a throat that is almost black?

Whether it’s a simple cluster of red orchids or a hundred floating gerbera daisies red says it best.

We have all watched the cake center stage in a traditional cake cutting ceremony. How romantic for all to witness [...]

We have all watched the cake center stage in a traditional cake cutting ceremony. How romantic for all to witness the first task a couple will perform jointly. This tradition has been dated back to the Roman Empire and it is still being practiced widely today. As the guest count has grown so has the size of wedding cakes. Because it is also tradition to have your wedding cake white, florists have taken the liberty of decorating these fantastic pyramids of confection.

This simple 4 tier cake has been brought to life with black magic roses, charlotte red roses, dark orange mokarra orchids & monarch butterflies.

Combining round and square cakes has created a modern feel. The edges lined in simple black against bright yellow cymbidium orchids have married masculine and feminine.

Hoping for something helplessly romantic? Pale pink roses simply placed, can give any cake a romantic feel.

Decorating your cake table to mimic your cake makes a small cake seem large. The green orchids used throughout create a seamless display.

Don’t have a lot to spend? Try getting your hands on some Garden roses. The smell and look of a garden rose is unmatched. It can reach all the senses with its beauty, and aroma. Luckily for our modern day brides the tradition of breaking a bread cake over the brides head has lost popularity! Let us eat it not wear it right ladies?

Bridal bouquets are like a fine tailored suit. They stand in the forefront as the world looks on. Along with the wedding dress they are the first thing every grandmother, wife, and little girl within viewing distance wants to see.

Whether a bride chooses refined, exotic, glamorous, or romantic, it most likely suits her well. It is good to always be true to what you love. Trends come and go, but a love for particular flowers will stand the test of time in your photo album. It’s not every day that a woman gets to carry a living work of art.

Your designer might not have a picture of something that you really like. If that is the case for you, take yourself to a garden or fabric shop and start picking out the things that draw you in. Some inspiration from a painting might help or perhaps a lovely piece of lace.

Nature is a great way to find interesting pairings and unexpected color combinations.

So brides if the suit fits by all means wear it!

What a breath of fresh air this Grecian inspired wedding gave to all its party goers. Our bride and groom met in Greek history class and married in Santarini, Greece. The royal blue and gold palette choices are reminiscent of the unforgettable dome topped buildings in romantic Santarini.

Lovely garlands of amber and cream floral paired with Fresh olive leaf halos dressed Greek statues.

Using flowers such as Gold Mokarra can really bring an amber tone to an outdoor space. Coupling that with cream draping can make indoor intimacy with a fantastic star lit night sky.

Pedestals with Large flower balls and ivory drape created a dining room entrance in true Grecian style and as the night fell the floating floral scape lit up the water.

Brass candelabras and cream candles adorned the royal blue tables. What a glorious and romantic evening at this private estate in beautiful San Diego CA.

What a spectacular site from the balcony of the famous Shutters on the Beach. If you have ever had the opportunity to stay at this relaxed yet luxurious location, one thing probably comes to the fore-front of your mind. The View! Only golden sand separates you from the shoreline.

The Sofreh or in English “spread” was beautifully displayed on Shutters balcony in true high style. An ornate mirror traditionally takes center stage with the purpose of bringing light & brightness into the future of the couple. We used bright pinks, greens and purple to show off the brides love for vibrant colors. Flaky pastries and mini sandwiches ran along the edges for the guests to partake in.

Decorative eggs and nuts bring fertility to the newlyweds and golden honey to bring sweetness to the marriage.

The brides love for vibrant color made its way into the reception. We used hot pink, Lavender & eggplant flowers paired with Ivory candles and clear ornate vases to fill the reception tables.

Tall and short vases can make the room full and warm. Congratulations to our beautiful couple!
